Newest Christmas note card

My newest Christmas note card, this one is all digital art work from my Wacom tablet and Photoshop. A whole lot of time went into getting these berries to look like they had ice on them, I am happy with the result. Card is blank inside for your special message. They will be for sale at Rose Center Gallery, Etsy and Zazzle.
I will also have them at my shows in November 10th at St Patrick's Church and the Rose Center December Show Dec. 7 and 8.

Nice surprize today

I picked up a magazine Country Sampler November issue today at the grocery store and there was an article about good friend home The Roupe's in Salem, Va. and on page 33 was one of my watercolor originals, their home is most beautiful. Yipeeee I made in to Country Sampler magazine, thanks to Doc and Norma.....

Just finished teaching my colored pencil class

Nice letter from our mayor

I received a very nice letter from our county Mayor Bill Brittain, about the ornament I did for our first lady of Tennessee. Thank you Mayor Brittain.
It was an honor and pleasure to paint this ornament for Hamblen county.

I have finally finished the hand-painted ornament for the First lady of Tennessee Christmas Tree, one artist from each county in Tennessee was chosen to paint an ornament, mine is packed and ready to ship come Monday. This not an easy thing to paint on, nor photograph. I chose the Rose Center because it is our cultural center in Hamblen county. On the back of the ornament I painted 2 snowflakes.

Two of my newest paintings are ready for the fall Bazaars here in Morristown TN. 6 x 12 acrylic canvas painting of Aspens and evergreen tree, just needs a frame.

Rose Center Gallery

The Rose Center Grand opening was wonderful, great people. Great refreshments, very large crowd. A few of us went to the Jersey Girl Diner for a bite and then back to the Rose for our meeting of Morristown Artist association, very interesting speaker, all about bamboo. Thank you Rose Center you guys did a great job.

I will be painting an ornament for the First Lady of Tennessee

Each county in Tennessee has chosen one artist to paint an ornament for Chrissy Haslam holiday tree. A landmark that shows why your county is unique. The ornament is gold and about 5 inches round. I was chosen to paint the ornament for Hamblen county. Now to do some sketches and take some photos, right after I finish this bazaar on Firday...More later on

Newest Gallery in Morristown TN

THE Gallery is now open, Grand Opening later this month....Come see.

The Rose Center will be opening a NEW gallery this month, I'm one of the lucky artists that will have their art work there. Tomorrow is drop off day for the art, I have spend most of the last 4 days getting framed art ready ready to be displayed, cleaning  choosing the right pieces ( I hope). We have a new director and he has some great ideas. Hurray for Drew...3 cheers for the guy with great visions.

The gallery will be open just in time for Christmas shopping and gift giving. You all come see it, I will let you know the date of its opening to the public...We have some wonderful artists here in the Morristown area..

Cades Cove Storms

Finished my colored pencil art and ready to start tweaking it for a print print size will be 5 x 17. I work from my photos I had taken a few years back. Love Cades Cove, very peaceful place. Of course I added   the stormy skies, maybe next painting I will do a snow scape.I need to take a trip to the cove soon, love driving up there and getting there just before daylight and watching the sun come up, we always take a thermos of coffee and some country ham biscuits for breakfast.

New colored pencil drawing I'm working on, Cades Cove is one of my favorite places in the mountains. First photo shows the photo I'm working from. 2nd photo shows the right side and 3rd photo shows the left side. I work on 300 pound Bristol paper. I will make Giclee  prints after this drawing is complete.

 Of course I don't do an exact drawing of my photo, in my minds eye I see storms clouds rolling in.

"Otter Woman"

After about 5 years on working on this piece it is finally finished and hangs above our entertainment center, because of my husband ashma I had to keep oils and my oil dryers away from him. I moved everything downstairs and she is now ready to be printed as soon as I get around to it. The original is 20 x 20 I'm thinking of doing smaller Giclee prints maybe 12 x12.  If you are interested in buying a print let me know.

I'm teaching classes

Finally decided to teach Scratchboard, I will be having 3 days, 3 hours each day, Saturday's at the Rose Center starting on June 23rd, June 30th and July 7th from 1-4 pm each Saturday listed. You will need Ampersand 8 x 10 scratchboard and a pack of tools, Hobby Lobby is the best place to purchase supplies, I check out Hobby Lobby and they do not have much in the way of scratchboad items so I suggest ordering from Jerry's Artrama in Knoxville they are now having sale..  Do Not open your scratchboard panel until you get to class.It will pick up oil from your skin and scratches very easy, I will have gloves for you in class. On Wednesday, June 27th I will be teaching a hand-made card class all supplies needed are Elmer's glue and pair scissors, I will furnished all supplies and embellishments.
