I finally got back to doing some scratchboard art
After about 25 years I decided to do some scratchboad, it has been a long time, it came back fast, thank goodness! I finished a cow face for Christmas cards and 5 x 7 prints. I am quite pleased. This is the year I will do a Christmas print from scratchboard. That should keep me busy for a while. I guess as artists we do need a change of pace to keep us fresh.
They are calling for rain for the next 3 days here in East Tennessee, good time to work. Just wish I did not have to the grocery store thingie...and cook.

Working on matting and framing 8 x 10's
I have spent the last 2 days printing and cutting mats for my New 8 x 10 series. These will be available framed or just matted at the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair Oct 8-25. I will have new cat prints, foxes, bobcat, waterbirds, bears, horses, landscapes and maybe a cow and chickens. Photos will be posted later closer to show time.
I don't know about the rest of the world but Tennessee is hot and if we have as much snow as we have had rain, look out for the winter, I love snow good excuse for big old pot of soup and a lot of painting.. Keep cool.

Tomorrow my day in Gatlinburg and the mountains
Tomorrow is a kind of working, fun day at Gatlinburg and the mountains, I will taking some reference photos for a Christmas print I will be releasing at the October show. I will also have Christmas cards of this image. It is one of those paintings that gets stuck in my mind, I know just about what I want to paint but need it to be authentic, so I need the photo shoot. We need a day out anyway. Nice lunch out. Feed our souls on mountain air.
We had to go out for a while today it has been 94 at times here in east Tennessee today, That's damn hot! Boy, bring on some cool weather. Soon.
